Dr. Steven Spitalnik Inducted into the National Blood Foundation (NBF) 2016 Hall of Fame

Dr. Steven Spitalnik was inducted into the National Blood Foundation (NBF) 2016 Hall of Fame during the recent AABB Annual Meeting on Monday, October 24th, 2016 in Orlando, FL.  The announcement was made by the AABB earlier this month, naming Jeanne E. Hendersen, MD of Yale University; Steven L. Spitalnik, MD  of Columbia University, and Karin Yazdanbakhsh, PhD of the Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute to the foundation’s list of trailblazers in Transfusion Medicine.  Dr. Spitalnik’s NBF research project “Hemolytic Transfusion Reaction: A Transgenic Mouse Model” received the NBF Grant in 2003.
