Anatomic Pathology

With over 25 areas of subspecialty and over 100 years of success, our JCAHO accredited, CLIA and NYSDOH licensed and CAP certified Anatomic Pathology laboratories process over 50,000 surgical cases and 64,000 cytology cases annually. We process samples from NY Presbyterian Hospital as well as from private doctors’ offices and other referring hospitals nationally and internationally. Our faculty members are board certified, actively engaged in research and committed to teaching in the College of Physicians & Surgeons, within our own residency training program and throughout the Columbia University Medical Center.

Laboratory Medicine

The Laboratory Medicine Program is dedicated to serving physicians and their patients, by providing a more intimate relationship between clinical diagnostic testing and the physician’s office. The laboratories are fully accredited by the JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and NYSDOH, the American Society for Histocompatibility (ASHI), and the American Association of Blood Banks (Transfusion Medicine Services). Each laboratory section is directed by a board-certified pathologist or doctoral scientist. We meet or exceed the requirements of these organizations for all of the tests which we perform.
