Funding Awarded to Postdocs in Haeusler Lab

Two of the postdoctoral scientists in Dr. Rebecca Haeusler’s laboratory have recently received funding.

Dr. Sei Higuchi

Dr. Sei Higuchi has received a 2017 Foreign Study Grant from the Kanae Foundation for his proposal entitled “Bile acids signaling as a novel approach for obesity treatment

The Kanae Foundation for the Promotion of Medical Science was established for the purpose of supporting original research by young investigators engaged in the life sciences. The Kanae Foundation also promotes the broader goal of contributing to the advancement of medicine and pharmacy as well as national health care.

Dr. M.Concepcion Izquierdo

Dr. M. Concepcion Izquierdo has received a 3-Year Postdoctoral Fellowship from the American Diabetes Association from 2017-2020 for her proposal entitled “Hepatic insulin action and endothelial function”.

The ADA postdoctoral fellowship award provides support for high quality training in disciplines and topics relevant to diabetes, in an environment conducive to beginning a career in diabetes research.
