Title: Deconstructing SWI/SNF alterations in non-small cell lung cancer
Description: Alterations in genes encoding for subunits of SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complexes occur in ~30% of non-small cell lung cancers, largely lung adenocarcinomas. These alterations are often associated with poor patient outcomes in cancer. Here, we will discuss the overall prognostic role of individual SWI/SNF subunit alterations in all NSCLCs and in oncogenic driver-positive (D+) and driver-negative (D-) groups. We will describe ongoing efforts in the laboratory to mechanistically interrogate the impact of SWI/SNF alterations on lung cancer progression and therapeutic responses. Finally, we will discuss targeted therapies for SWI/SNF-mutant cancers currently in clinical trials.
