    Benjamin Herzberg, MD Assistant Professor of Medicine  Department of Medicine, Hematology & Oncology Program: Precision Oncology and Systems Biology (POSB) Carla Concepcion-Crisol, PhD Assistant Professor of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics Department of Molecular Pharmacology & Therapeutics Program:  Cancer Genomics and Epigenomics (CGE)   Title: Deconstructing SWI/SNF alterations in non-small cell lung cancer Description: Alterations in genes encoding for subunits of SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complexes occur in ~30% of non-small cell lung cancers, largely lung adenocarcinomas. These alterations are often associated with poor patient outcomes in cancer. Here, we will discuss the overall prognostic role of individual SWI/SNF subunit alterations in all NSCLCs and in oncogenic driver-positive (D+) and driver-negative (D-) groups. We will describe ongoing efforts in the laboratory to mechanistically interrogate the impact of SWI/SNF alterations on lung cancer progression and therapeutic responses. Finally, we will discuss targeted therapies for SWI/SNF-mutant cancers currently in clinical trials.     20th Annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day This program has been designed by our Faculty to help patients and their families fully understand pancreatic cancer and make a stressful time easier by arming learners with quality information as well as a comprehensive support network. In addition to innovative clinical lectures on topics such as; prevention, advances in surgery, medical & radiation oncology & genetics, several survivors will share their personal experiences helping those better understand what to expect. Our panel of experts will host an interactive Q&A session followed by  a meet & greet with light food fare, giveaways and valuable information. Participating vendors will share wellness tips, nutritional information, outline support services available and much more! The program is being offered in-person or you may opt to attend virtually.
